It was late in the night, but Tursi Jr could not find a way to fall asleep. He closed his eyes, but the memories of the previous day were torturing him and made him desperate. It was the fault of his schoolmates, who, full of malice, did things to him that really hurt him as a stab right to the heart.
The Tursis were a different race from the others, and because of that, some people persecuted and harassed them, not understanding the devastating effect their actions had on them, but especially on Tursi Jr.
Day by day, he had to put up with the bullying he received at school. Thanks to the good education that his parents had given him, he was able to endure all of it and not do anything against them, no matter how much this made him angry.
His parents wisely made sure Tursi Jr. learned every lesson, but nothing had prepared him for the tedious cycle he suffered at school.
He wasn't the only one being bullied, but maybe he was the only one who was about to explode, full of resentment and spite to pay them back.
With each given minute, Tursi Jr. knew that he had to do his best to try to sleep so he would have the strength to live through another unpleasant day at school.
However, the more time passed, the more he became convinced that he should teach everyone a lesson for mistaking his humbleness for weakness.
I will show them my power and they will surrender at my feet. They'll see!... They'll see! –Tursi Jr. said to himself in a low voice and while babbling about these things, he fell asleep.
A few minutes later he found himself flying through the air. Suddenly, he saw his schoolmates on the ground. They all played and annoyed those who were around them. Tursi Jr without even thinking, threw one of the spheres at them, transforming them into fireballs, throwing them with an unmeasurable strength. They all screamed in fear as they ran, trying to outrun the fire.
Come on, you cowards! Don't run away. I will tear you all into nothing. Experience my great power! –Tursi Jr. shouted while shooting more fire. Tursi Jr. was enjoying all of this, until all of a sudden, the alarm rang, waking him up.
Opening his eyes, he realized that all of it was just a dream, but this didn't take away the huge smile on his face. Jumping up, he got out of bed and started getting ready to go to school. Still, despite the bad things that happened to him, he loved going there every day.
When he was ready with his backpack, he went downstairs feeling very motivated. Today would be a different day. Inside him, he could feel it, or at least so he thought. His mother, Tursa, seeing him come to the table where breakfast was with such spirit, couldn’t help but ask:
"What on earth happened to you, little boy?"
"Good morning, mother," replied Tursi Jr.
-Good Morning? You look like today is more than just a good morning. Let's see, what are you up to? Tursa asked.
"Mother, I had an amazing dream! Everyone could see how powerful I am - Tursi Jr replied.
–You kids, and your imagination. Either way, I like to see you smile –said Tursa, while giving him some breakfast.
Suddenly, his father, the Great Tursi, and his twin sister, Tursilina, came to the table.
–Someone is very happy and very early at the table, are you feeling sick today? Tursilina asked.
-Do not even start! If you don't hurry up, for sure you'll be late –replied the Great Tursi, diverting the conversation.
"Honey, our son had a wonderful dream and look how happy he is," Tursa said as she served some breakfast for all of them.
-That's so good, son. I'm glad for you. You know I've always told you to stay focused on positive things. Never forget everything we have taught you. That way, no one will be able to take away your happiness – answered the Great Tursi and right after it, he began to eat.
"That's right, father. In my dream, everyone could see the great power within me. I know that everything will work out in my favor – answered Tursi Jr.
Tursilina was staring at him, and while she was eating, she wondered: “What is all this dream about? I do not know what it is, but I will find out!"
When everyone finished eating, they showed their gratitude to Tursa and went to deal with their respective duties. Tursi Jr opened the door and waited for Tursilina to be ready.
"Come on, Tursilina, why are you always late?" Tursa asked.
"Come on, Tursilina, it's time to go." The faster we go, the faster we'll be back," Tursi Jr. said.
–Ma! Don’t you see? Tursi Jr is always annoying me –exclaimed Tursilina.
Tursa gave Tursilina a kiss and said:
-I just want you not to be late, now leave the excuses behind and go.
-You say it as if he were my older brother. He is only older by a few minutes –Tursilina complained, but, seeing the look on her mother's face, she hurried to be out of the house soon enough.
Tursa stood in the doorway and said as she watched them go:
-Take care of each other and have a fun day.
A moment later, being far from the house, and knowing no one was listening, Tursilina asked her brother curiously:
– Why such a hurry? Don't be like that, tell me the dream and tell me the truth, don't make it up.
"Anyway, you surely are going to say I made it up," replied Tursi Jr.
-I promise I won’t, just tell me about it -Tursilina asked.
–About what? Oh I don’t remember anymore… –said Tursi Jr, but Tursilina interrupted him.
-Don't you dare to be funny and tell me, we're running out of time.
"Okay, but pay close attention," said Tursi Jr as they continued walking on his way to school.
Across town, the roar of a speeding car engine was heard. It was a special Ferrari car, it was a unique model from the year 2029 that almost nobody knew about, but even so they were surprised to see it.
It was the most advanced sports car ever created.
The vehicle crossed the bridge that divided both cities at high speed, it could be seen that the driver was not a novice, since the skill with which he drove was impressive, but despite this, it was also noticeable that he was very calm, as if driving that car was normal for him.
Minutes later, after skidding on a curve, the driver noticed that two patrol cars came out of one of the streets and began to follow him. But this did not worry him because, as soon as he saw them, he smiled to himself and said in a low voice, while putting on his favorite song:
“Again? Do they not learn? I will have to teach them as always.”
He accelerated even more and began to weave through the traffic, noticing through the rearview mirror that the patrol cars were getting further and further away from him. But, to his surprise, it didn't take long, as the patrols gradually caught up with him. He was surprised and considered what he could do, but at that moment nothing occurred to him. The traffic did not allow him to go faster or lose sight of them.
Suddenly, a car changed lanes forcing him to slow down a bit, causing the patrols to get closer. The patrol cars were not common, they were Mustang GT Turbo Cobra Model and were specially prepared to race.
They were flawless. The black color, along with the blue and white lettering designs, not only identified them as New York patrol cars, but also made them look intimidating.
“Do you think that having new toys will change something? Let's see how well they know how to use them” -the driver said with a smirk.
To the surprise of the patrols, the Ferrari took a turn towards one of the main streets, skidding between several cars. This sudden stunt allowed him to get away from them, but as he rounded the curve, the driver realized that an accident had occurred not far from where he was standing, and traffic had stopped.
Searching for what to do now, he stepped between two slow-moving cars, seeing in the distance the only street he could escape on.
Time was running out and the patrols were getting much closer. He just had to cross the two lanes without crashing and skidding until he entered the street.
He was almost about to reach the point where he had to skid, until he saw that, from the opposite side, a group of cyclists was coming, who also wanted to cross the street that the driver had chosen to escape.
The officers realized the plan and accelerated much more.
“Oh no, why is this happening to me now? Everything was going so well” -the driver said to himself, as he thought about what he could do.
He was running out of time and the traffic was not helping him, apparently the accident had been serious, and the cars were stopped in both directions. His only option was that street, if he didn't take it, he would have to stay in traffic.
The driver, seeing that the group of cyclists had already begun to cross, hit the brakes skidding across the street and, after making a half turn, stopped filling the place with smoke.
All the cyclists got scared and many jumped off their bikes. Many stared at him, but the driver's gaze was on the patrol cars, as they had stopped in a large barricade on one side of the traffic, on the other side were the buildings, and on the other the cyclists. The driver was trapped.
“Thank you, friends. Now I'm stuck” -the driver said, looking at the cyclists with a half-smile.
All the police officers got out of the patrol cars and began to approach the car, surrounding it. The driver was calm, but attentive since he had no other alternative. He really was trapped.
"Get out of the car and put your hands up," one of the officers standing next to the patrol said.
The driver rolled down the window, which made the officers stop approaching, but one of them yelled:
“Please, don't do something crazy and get out of the car slowly, that's the only way you'll be fine.”
But the driver was not aware of them, he was still looking for what he could do. He said quietly:
“I can't lose, I can't lose.”
The officers got closer and closer, one of them reached the window and said to the driver:
"Didn't you hear, Mac William? This time you lost; you have no escape.”
Another of the officers heard him and went to his partner yelling:
“What have you done?”
Mac William replied:
“Just as you heard, he said my name. I was saved”
At that moment, Mac William noticed that the cyclists had moved. He started his Ferrari and skidded in circles, until he was facing the street so he could get away quickly.
The officer who had mentioned the name shouted:
“It can’t be! I screwed up!”
"Yes, you did, Mario, and now it's escaped us" -said a colleague.
"I'm sorry, Miguel" -Mario said.
"He always manages to escape, it's not fair" -said another officer named Rubio.
"Well, mates, it's time to go, maybe we'll catch him next time" -Will said to his other mates.
They all got into their patrol cars and left the place. Will took his phone and dialed Mac William's number, when he answered, he said:
“I don't know what you have, friend, but you always win at a bet and when you don't win, you draw.”
Mac William laughed and replied:
"They almost caught me, but in the end they ruined everything."
"Don't worry, one day we'll catch you. For now, it is better that you move away from the area, you must be out of here. Now I'm hearing reports on the radio about your great escape, surely reinforcements will be here soon” -Will said.
"Okay, take care, until next time" -replied Mac William, ending the call.
Will heard the roar of Mac William's Ferrari engine in the distance, thinking how close they had come to catching him this time. Without saying anything, he started his patrol to meet his companions who were waiting for him at the meeting point, on the other side of the bridge.
When it was time for recess, everyone left the classrooms. The halls were full of students taking things out and putting things into their lockers. Tursi Jr made his way through the students super-fast to get to his locker and look for something he needed.
Until, all of a sudden, he heard the unmistakable voice of the leader of the bullies, Casilindo, who was bothering Yayi the rabbit. Tursi Jr stared at them, not realizing that Tursilina was watching him from afar and realizing what was happening to Yayi.
.–What is wrong with them? Why don't they stop bugging and bothering? Tursilina wondered, while approaching her brother.
–They are bullies, they make me want to hit them and show them that I have more power than them. I would destroy them like the cowards they are –said Tursi Jr in a low voice. Tursilina was also upset, but she kept quiet.
The five youngsters continued to bully Yayi the rabbit, while everyone observed them without doing anything.
"Someone, take away the juice," ordered Casilindo.
–take it away! take it away! the others from the gang shouted.
"Okay, I'll take it away myself," Casilindo affirmed while his friends laughed.
Casilindo took the juice from Yayi the rabbit and drank it in front of him.
-It was so good, now get out of here, silly bunny -ordered Casilindo, but seeing that Yayi, who was scared to death, did not move a finger, he yelled at him:
-Go away, you animal!
Yayi, while hearing him yelling, he jumped out of shock and ran away.
The others who were there, started to feel sad with what happened and walked away with their heads down. Everyone had seen how sad and scared Yayi was. Some of those who saw what happened, murmured asking why Yayi did not defend himself. Others continued doing their things as if nothing had happened.
Tursi Jr left walking behind Yayi, who had realized that he was looking at him while everything was happening.
Going out to the courtyard, Yayi sat on a bench far away, thinking one of the bullies had followed him, but instead he saw that Tursi Jr was watching him.
Tursi Jr smiled at him, and the rabbit Yayi was grateful to see a friendly face, he calmed down and returned the gesture with a half-smile.
When Tursi Jr returned, he noticed that everyone in the hallway was still going about their business as if nothing had happened.
– What else could they do? Tursi Jr wondered in a deep voice.
Finding no answer to his own question, he headed off to his next class that he liked so much. As soon as he got to class, he noticed that some were playing and others were talking, but, above all, there was always someone bothering them.
Tursi Jr sat at his desk while he waited for the teacher to arrive. Bored, he took out his notebook and began to draw what he remembered from the dream he had. After several minutes, he already had a large part of the drawing done. In it, Tursi Jr flew, in the air while shooting fire spheres, which hit all the bullies.
As he drew, in his mind he shouted at them:
I will eliminate them all and not even their shadow will remain. This is my power; this is what they get for provoking my rage.
But in no time, in his mind he stopped flying and started shooting fireballs at his parents, who were hugging each other and crying because of what he was doing.
The only thing he heard between the tears was the voice of her mother telling her husband:
–This is not what we have taught you, this is not what we have taught you.
Tursi Jr, seeing them, was surprised and immobile. His mother's voice echoed in his head, bringing him back to reality where someone was calling him.
-Hey, friend, wake up because the teacher has arrived.
-What? What? –asked Tursi Jr somewhat confused.
Permon the dwarf explained, taking some pencils out of his backpack. “I don't know where your mind is but concentrate on the class before the teacher sees you and scolds you.” Tursi Jr. paid attention to his friend and took out his pencil.
The class went smoothly, and when it was over, Tursi Jr and Permon the dwarf walked out of the room together.
When classes for the day were over, everyone got on the bus as usual. Tursi Jr liked to walk, but since he was given a lot of homework, he carried a lot of books in his backpack and didn't want to carry them all the way to his house.
When they arrived, the bus stopped and Tursilina got off first, her brother got off after her throwing a tantrum.
Tursilina, seeing him so angry kicking the ground and punching the air, asked him:
-What's wrong with you? Can't you control yourself? Did you lose a nut?
"It's just that I hate them, they just make life difficult for others," replied Tursi Jr, pulling his hair.
–I know, brother, but being that angry is not good. Let's go into the house to drink some water and that way you'll calm down –Tursilina gave her advice.
-What?! If I go in the house, Mom will start asking me questions.
"I think you're right, they'll see your rabid dog face and you won't be able to escape," Tursilina said as they both walked towards the entrance of his house.
"You know what, little sister? I will find a way to show them that we are better than they think, and I will end these abuses. I just need time to find a way to make them fall into their own evil -said Turis Jr with a smile.
-Whatever you say. Let me in first and I'll let you know when you can come in. That way mom won't see your face –Tursilina said, opening the door of her house. She went inside and, seeing that her mother was not there, she made a signal to Tursi Jr, who also entered and went straight to his room. He closed the door of his bedroom tightly, scaring his sister.
"He really is very upset," Tursilina stated quietly.
Tursi Jr threw his backpack on the floor and began to walk around his room saying:
-No! No!
Tursi Jr was making a lot of noise and when the music that was playing stopped, his mother heard his screaming. As she got closer, she was able to hear more clearly what her son was saying.
-No! No!
Concerned, she entered the room and, seeing him so upset, she asked:
"What's wrong with my boy?" We've already talked about this, take a deep breath. Don't let anything make you feel so bad.
–I know, mother, it is not good to let the volcano of anger erupt. I know but holding on isn't easy either – answered Tursi Jr still annoyed. But seeing the concerned face of his mother, he calmed down a bit.
- Go take a bath. It might help you to be calmer. I'll call you when the food is ready. I'm preparing your favorite meal –said Tursa, giving him a hug.
Tursi Jr thanked her and went to do what his mother had told him to.
Tursi Jr began to fill the bathtub, as if it were one of the pools he liked so much, and the bathroom quickly filled with steam from the hot water.
When everything was ready, Tursi Jr got into the bathtub, sitting in the water and thinking while he played, using his imagination. Tursi Jr took a piece of soap with butterfly drawings that was near the bathtub and began to imagine that he was flying.
-That's right, someday they'll understand that I'm not a loser like they say. They're going to need me, and they'll regret calling me a nobody. You'll see -said Tursi Jr in a deep voice, while he played with the soap and water.
He was having a wonderful time, until, suddenly, his sister knocked on the door saying:
-Tursi, how long do you plan to be in there? I also want to take a bath.
He tried to ignore her, but she kept knocking on the door and saying:
"Please don't be like that. I know you're in there, I can hear you playing with the water.
Tursi Jr said in a deep voice, complaining:
"Why is it that they always interrupt me when I feel better?"
Tursilina, tired of knocking, stood in front of the bathroom door, wondering if it was really worth having a brother.
-Tursi Jr is not so bad, it's just that sometimes it's a bit complicated -Tursilina said. She then knocked on the door again, saying out loud:
Tursi, don't be like that. You're going to finish all the water and you know I don't like to take cold showers.
"Yes, I know, if there is no hot water, you don't take a bath," replied Tursi Jr, opening the bathroom door.
Turislina, seeing that her brother had come out wrapped in a towel, took it off and said:
-Don't be a liar, I always take a bath. So, stop bothering me or I won't give you the towel back.
-Don't be like that, it's cold. Besides, I don't know why you insist on interrupting me –said Tursi Jr trying to take the towel back.
"It's because you've run out of hot water," Tursilina replied, giving him the towel back.
"Okay, little sister, don't be mad. There is still hot water, so go and enjoy it -said Tursi Jr.
-Tursi, I always interrupt you because when you start playing with your great imagination, you get into your own little world, time passes by, and you don't realize that you've run out of water. Remember that it has happened several times.
-Whatever you say, little sister, whatever you say. Don't blame me for being a creative boy – answered Tursi Jr coming out of the bathroom.
"So much imagination is going to burn your brain," Tursilina said, but Tursi Jr ignored her, while he thought about the great day of his victory.
Tursilina was annoyed and closed the door, muttering:
-This one is completely nuts.
She went to take a shower, while her brother went to his room until dinner time.
The next day, everyone got ready as usual. The family was very happy and were walking around like they did every morning. The Great Tursi was putting his briefcase in order.
Tursi Jr and Tursilina made sure they had what they needed in their backpacks for homework and Tursa, as always, had breakfast ready for them.
"Honey, haven't you seen the files I had last night?" –Asked the Great Tursi to his wife.
I don't know, but take it easy. Eat breakfast while it is still hot, and surely you will remember later, as it always happens to you -Tursa answered putting a plate full of food on the table.
Tursi Jr and Tursilina arrived and greeted their parents, sitting down at the table. The Great Tursi took the plate that Tursa had given him and, after serving himself, placed it in the middle of the table.
Tursi Jr helped himself first to Tursilina, taking a large piece of cornbread. Her sister made an angry gesture at him, but Tursi, without looking at her, began to eat the bread.
Tursilina was going to say something, but her father, not knowing what was happening, went ahead asking:
"Hey kids, how's school going?"
"I'm doing well, dad, I really like learning," answered Tursilina.
Tursi Jr stared at her, thinking about the big lie she had told, “learn very well? You're just saying that so nobody's worried. Nothing will be right until the bullying stops, ”Tursi Jr thought to himself in his mind.
"And what about you, son?" asked the Great Tursi.
"Everything normal," replied Tursi Jr, pouring a mouthful of scrambled eggs into his mouth.
"Normal" you say? So why were you so grumpy yesterday? It seemed that you would explode –asked the Great Tursi.
Tursi Jr did not know what to answer and remained silent.
"That's right, little one, you don't need to try to lie or hide. We are your parents, we want the best for you, you know that, right? Tursa said.
-Yes, mom, I know, but really everything is normal. There's nothing different, right, Tursilina? –Asked Tursi Jr staring at his sister, who almost choked on her food.
–Dad, Tursi Jr is upset with… –but Tursi Jr, fearing what she might say, interrupted her:
– Homework, they are leaving lots of homework and I want to have more time to play on the weekend.
"Yes, it's like that, the multiplication tables are very complicated," Tursilina added, winking at her brother.
Tursa and the Great Tursi looked at each other, noting how quickly their children finished eating. Until, suddenly, the alarm clock went off and everyone knew what it meant. It was time to go.
Tursi Jr and Tursilina said goodbye to their parents and left in a hurry so as not to miss the bus and not have to walk to school. When they were already away from home, Tursi Jr told Tursilina:
-I don't know why they don't get tired of saying how much they love each other, you saw them, right?
– How not to see them? I find it beautiful to see how much our parents love each other. Thanks to that, you and I were born. So, stop complaining so much. Not because you're upset, you have to see everything that happens as something bad –Tursilina answered.
-Fine, you’re right! By the way, thanks for humoring me. For a moment I thought you would tell the truth -said Tursi Jr.
-How do you think, that's why we're brothers, but I have to admit that the excuse was good, even I believed it -Tursilina replied looking at her brother with a half-smile.
Tursi Jr noticing the gesture, stopped, and said:
-What? I know that face, what do you want?
“You know, I want an ice cream for being your good little sister who helps you so much” answered Toursilina.
Why is it that no one does anything for free? there is always something covered up. Okay, Tursilina, I'll buy you your ice cream –replied Tursi Jr standing in front of the bus stop.
Tursilina began to dance very happily around her brother, while they waited for the bus, which arrived minutes later, and they both left for school together.
Tursilina began to talk with some friends, while her brother stared at the sky, imagining that he was giving those bullies what they deserved, those who made life miserable for everyone.
